With the roll out of the WWE Network people were curious to see how a subscription only PPVs would be. So far it's been a solid C so far. Let's be real the only reasons to get the WWE Network is for the PPVs and to see the ones from years past. I will say that there has been a slight improvement with "WWE Countdown" and "Wrestlemania Rewind" being breakout shows. So far there has been five PPVs shown on the network: Wrestlemania, Extreme Rules, Payback, Money In the Bank, and Battleground. Wrestlemania and Money In the Bank have been the best yet. Hopefully that means there's still hope for the Network but consistent quality PPVs are going to be the only way people will stay interested. Aside from the Network, there were superstars released this year and a legend passed away( R.I.P. Warrior). I want to go through some of the current superstars and some of the up and comers to name the winners and losers so far this year.
Winners: Big E, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Goldust, Stardust, The Usos, Luke Harper, The Miz, Roman Reigns, Rusev, Seth Rollins, Jack Swagger, A.J Lee, Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, Paige, Summer Rae
Reasons: Decent story lines, interesting characters/character changes, and better mic skills.
Losers: Alberto Del Rio, Big Show, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Damien Sandow, Fandango, The Great Khali, Heath Slater, Hornswoggle, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, R Truth, Ryback, Sin Cara, Titus, Xavier Woods, Zack Ryder, Emma, Layla, Natalya, Nikki Bella, Rosa Mendes
Reasons: Del Rio, Big Show, The Great Khali, Kane, Mark Henry, Kofi, and Natalya lack story lines. Sandow, Fandango, Heath, Hornswoggle, R Truth, Ryback, Emma, Layla, and Nikki because people are getting bored of them. Bo Dallas, Axel, Xavier, Rosa lack of fan interest. The rest have too many spotty moments to really go far.
NXT main roster hopefuls: Adrian Neville, C.J., Cory, Kenta, Konnor, Sammy, Sylvester, Tyler, Viktor, Alexa, Bayley, Eden, Sasha, Charlotte, and Becky.
At the end of the year I will update this list and hopefully the winners will outweigh the losers.
*note my use of the word loser is only toward the characters and not the actual person.
